Adore Wedding Design was feeling creative yesterday! We decided to play around with some of the materials in our studio to show you some of our design skills. We literally took items that were already on hand and created different sample reception tables. We used a small table, usually fit perfectly as a sweetheart table and 1-2 place settings. The first design was all about color. We used yellow and white hydrangeas, white and cream roses and white orchids in a mercury vase. We simply placed a silver charge underneath the vase and added grounding points with candles, matching yellow starfish and smaller cut flowers. (yes the flowers are fake)
For the linens, we chose a soft yellow satin and a white lace overlay and combined silver and gold elements to make this theme beach elegance...and maybe even a little vintage!

Our next few variations show you the possibilities you have when creating a centerpiece. We took one centerpiece and did it three different ways. We changed up the arrangement of table accessories such as candles, table numbers, flowers and decor but otherwise the centerpiece stayed constant. The first one creates a dramatic glamorous look with bold pink and purple flowers, pops of white flowers and of course our favorite, sequin linens.!
Adding touches of metallic silver and satin deep purple add to the glamours and upscale effect being created as well as the velvet demask candle holders. This table set up is so different from the yellow beach elegance because it's not so matchy-matchy. If you play off the hues in your favorite flowers it can make for a beautiful table design that still reads as a cohesive theme.
This next variation has a lot going on with it. We took a totally different approach as far as color scheme. As we said before, it doesn't have to be matchy-matchy all the way through with every detail but having a good eye for color and texture is harder to come by. If you don't feel you have the creative bone in your body to create something out of the box, search for a professional to help you design your event. Adore Wedding Design would be happy to help!
Here we complimented the colors in the arrangement with a linen that is close to the colors in the centerpiece and also reflects the color in the decor items. I'm not sure if the camera was able to catch the reflective nature of this linen that had a bit of a gold shimmer when it catches light. We love the texture of this linen too an can give it almost a beach theme feel. We tried to stray away from that by adding elements that read more of the renaissance era. and added a more romantic touch with the sweeping greenery

This centerpeice version had so many possibilities that I was unable to decide on just one simple factor: the napkin. Should it be neatly folded, or draping off the table? Should it be a lilac color, white, champagne or antique blue? So if you're wondering, that is why I included all of those variations...you decide which one you like best!
You can see in the picture above that we used a darker wood Chiavari chair instead of the silver. Although there are gold and silver metallic elements in this centerpiece, adding something as simple as a darker chair compliments the entire table and the textures of the linen and flowers.
In this final version, we decided to go bold! Bright fuchsia really makes a statement and makes the colors of the flower arrangement pop. The use of the deeper purple flowers also breaks up the overly pink variation. This look is very modern and sleek with the use of satin linens, mercury votives and the design of the table number with sleek frame. We felt adding some lighter colors such as the silver charger plates and white love dove decor elements helped bring the table together.
Add some uplighting and you have a seriously fab reception with this table decor! Let us know what you think!
